SuperSport United left-back, Onismor Bhasera has become the latest player to be drafted into the Warriors squad, a reliable source confirmed to this publication.
According to the source, Bhasera who plies his trade in South Africa, was picked up upon the teams’ arrival in South Africa.
The 35-year-old will replace fan’s favourate Divine Lunga who sustained an injury while playing for his respective club Golden Arrows, last week.
Meanwhile, England based defender, Adam Chicksen who started during Warriors’ crunch tie against Algeria at National Sports Stadium is also absent though as a result of strict travel restrictions that were put in place by the UK government.
The unavailability of Lunga and Chicksen could be the reason why coach Logarusic recalled the much-experienced former Bidvest Wits defender (Bhasera) despite that he has not been part of the Warriors squad of late.
Zimbabwe will play the Zebras of Botswana in a crucial AFCON qualifier match at Francistown Stadium in Francistown tonight at 18:00hours.
A win for Zimbabwe while Zambia fails to beat log leaders Algeria who have already qualified will see the Warriors book a place at the 2022 AFCON finals in Cameroon.
