Chibuku Super Cup defending champions Highlanders FC, are intended to finish as group leaders in the preliminary round of this year’s tournament, assistant coach Bekithemba Ndlovu revealed.

Ndlovu said this Thursday during a pre-match press conference that was held at the club’s offices in Bulawayo.

Bosso takes on Bulawayo City on Sunday afternoon at Babourfields Stadium.

Speaking to journalists, the former Bosso defender, clearly stated that the team will give it all to finish on top of the log.

He also dismissed the idea that the club will field bench warmers to giving them a chance to play, despite they have already qualified to next round f the tournament.

“We are fighting to be on top of the log because according to the rules of the competition, the team that finish on top remains and plays at home.

“While runners-up are scheduled to travel and play away, for instance in Mandava. But for us as Highlanders FC we want to play at BF because we are used to the turf,” he said.

Highlanders are in Pool B with Chicken Inn, Bulawayo Chiefs and Bulawayo City.
They are currently seated on second position with nine points, one point behind log leaders Chicken Inn.

For them to end the tournament as log leaders, Bosso requires Bulawayo Chiefs to beat Chicken Inn, while they edge over Bulawayo City.

Both Bosso and Gamecocks are fighting for a top spot in order to avoid playing winners of Pool C who are either Ngezi Platinum or FC Platinum.
