South African side Kaizer Chiefs has decided to place the Zimbabwe international highly rated midfielder, Khama Billiat on the transfer market, media reports indicate.
The former 2015/16 South Africa Premier League Soccer Star of the Year, is left with less than 5 months on his contract at Naturena.
However, it seems Amakhosi are not keen on renewing Billiat’s contract.
Billiat left rivals Sundowns as a free agent to join Chiefs in July 2018.
This was despite the fact that that former Mamelodi Sundowns coach, Pitso Mosimane was still interested in the players’ services.
Billiat turned down a lucrative deal offered to him by the former CAF champions, Sundowns.
A development that convinced Chiefs’ owner, Kaizer Motaung to offer the player nearly a whooping R8-million per annum.
Khama earns R830,000 per month, making him one of the highest paid footballers in South Africa.
However, since joining Amakhosi, Billiat has found it difficult to mantain his best form, scoring only 15 goal in 79 games making it his worst perfomance since joining the South African Premier League, a decade ago.
Despite a poor perfomance, South African Football magazine, Soccer Laduma, early this month, revealed that the forward had attracted the interests of Egyptian giants.
The three teams interested in Billiat are Zamalek, Pyramids and Al Ahly.
Meanwhile, Billiat is a doubt for the two crucial upcoming AFCON qualifier matches against Botswana and Zambia, as a result of an injury.
The former Ajax player, sustained a cracked bone on his leg, forcing him out of action for close to eight weeks.
