The objectivity of any normal democratic society is to ensure enjoyment of freedoms under whatever situation, however the recent action by the Zanu Pf led regime to deploy ‘thugs’ in police uniform to disrupt, destroy and violently beat up and arrest ARTUZ members waiting for the NSSA outcome is definitely disturbing because of the violent and unconstitutional approach.
The purpose of the Salary action was a result of the reluctant nature of the regime to refuse to acknowledge the plight of the education sector, however to true ZANU PF nature the police came out guns blazing as if possessed injuring and arresting dozens in the process with a number of National Executive leaders unaccounted for.
The arrested members are ARTUZ President Obert Masaraure, Mutoko District Chairperson Wellington Gweshe, Sikoluhle Ndlovu, Linia Nkiwane,Rudo Maburutse, Thembikile,Boris Muguti and seven other Comrades. Also arrested is human rights Defender and presenter of the ZHRMP program Liam Kanhenga and ARTUZ Intern and ZINASU Legal secretary Boris Muguti who had come to provide solidarity
