Three armed robbers in Bulawayo went away with US$4 200, eight boxes of solar led lights, 2x5KV invertors, 1x3KV invertor, an HP Desktop computer, and a cellphone after they persuaded the shop owner , who already closed his shop, to open it before attacking him and stealing an assortment of goods.
In a post on their tweeter handle, the Zimbabwe Republic Police has said investigations are underway.
Details are that the three unknown suspects, armed with an unidentified pistol, posed as potential customers who intended to buy an invertor at Corner 14th Avenue and J.M Nkomo Street, in Bulawayo and convinced the owner of the shop to open for them.
On opening the shop, the trio attacked the complainant and went away with cash and other goods.
There has been an increase in the number of armed robbery cases in the country and police has called for cooperation from the public to curb the commission of such crimes.
