The ZRP reports a fatal road traffic accident that occurred at the 33km peg along the Harare-Masvingo Road on 06/08/22 at around 1520 hours.
A motorist, who was driving a Nissan Note vehicle with five passengers on board towards Harare, collided head-on with a Scania rigid truck which had no passengers. Five people, including the driver of the Nissan Note, died on the spot, while one passenger sustained severe injuries. Names of the victims will be released in due course.
The ZRP is investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a female juvenile aged 11 who was found buried on the banks of Mutondwe River in Munhondo Village, Mt Darwin, on 05/08/22.
The victim, who resided in Mun’ando Village, reportedly went missing on 18/07/22 after she was sent to the neighbouring Village by her mother to collect US$10 and US$3 cash owed to her mother by two women, aged 37 and 31. The Police recovered a blood-stained axe handle about 60 metres from the shallow grave.

The ZRP is investigating a murder case that occurred in the Breamer area in Inyathi on 05/08/22, where the victim, Descent Moyo (25), was fatally stabbed once in the stomach with an okapi knife by a suspect only known as Bulisani Mnkandla, whom he was sharing a beer with after a misunderstanding over an undisclosed issue.
The ZRP is investigating circumstances surrounding a suspected murder case in which the body of an unknown male adult was found floating in the Phekiwe River, near Mbundane suburb and Nkulumane 10, Bulawayo, on 05/08/22.
The body, which was in its advanced stages of decomposition, had a striped grey track bottom. Similarly, on 05/08/22, a body of an unknown male adult was found lying in a bush area near Siyaso 2 industrial site, Beitbridge.
The body was facing upwards with mucus oozing from the nose. Anyone with information to contact any nearest police station.
Police in Bulawayo arrested Sufficient Ncube (34) in connection with a robbery case which occurred at the Njube bus stop near Entumbane Complex on 03/08/22. The suspect, together with his accomplice, only known as Shelton Khumalo, allegedly attacked a complainant and stole a wallet containing US$2 500 before speeding off in a white twin cab vehicle (ACK 4110).
The complainant sustained some bruises on the face. Meanwhile, on 04/08/22, ZRP Filabusi recovered a BMW F30 vehicle reportedly stolen through a robbery along Zvishavane Mbalabala Road, near Bekezela shops on 03/08/22 at around 2230 hours.
The car was found dumped along the Masvingo-Mbalabala Road near Mbalabala turn-off.
