Vice President Constantine Chiwenga and his former wife Mary Mubaiwa-Chiwenga’s divorce hearing has been postponed as Marry is critically ill

High Court Judge, Justice Ester Muremba postponed the divorce case hearing to July 5, 2021.

The matter was postponed after VP Chiwenga’s lawyer Advocate Lewis Uriri told Justice Muremba they were satisfied Mubaiwa ‘is indeed ill’.

Mubaiwa was supposed to stand trial on Monday at Harare Magistrate’s Court and failed to appear and a hospital remand was done, postponing the matter to June 29.

In this matter which was set for trial, Mubaiwa is accused of assaulting Chiwenga’s maid at a primary school when she had gone to see her children who are under VPs custody.

Mubaiwa is also facing attempted murder charges where she is being accused of trying to kill Chiwenga when he was being treated in South Africa.

Meanwhile, the courts have been declined to give Mubaiwa her passport back when she applied to go and treated outside the country.

The passport was taken by court as a part of her bail conditions as surety not to abscond trial.
