Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) are investigating a case in which 225 bullets were recovered at a house in Chinhoyi.
The bullets, believed to be those of a 7,62mm pistol, were found stashed at a house in Ruvimbo Phase 2 area.
They have since been taken to the Ballistics Division for further investigations.
National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the recovery and said investigations were still in progress.
âPolice in Chinhoyi are investigating circumstances surrounding the recovery of 225 x 7,62mm of ammunition on March 2, 2021 at house number 9832 Ruvimbo Phase 2, Chinhoyi,â he said.
Police in Kwekwe arrested Edmore Mupande (36) in connection with several cases of robbery which occurred in and around Kwekwe.
Police recovered an axe, a knobkerrie and stolen Nokia Lumia cellphone in the suspectâs silver Mark X vehicle which was used as a getaway car in the commission of crime. Investigations are in progress.
The ZRP has intensified operations; âno to unregistered motor vehiclesâ, âno to toutsâ, âno to unscrupulous fuel dealersâ, âno to illegal forex dealersâ, âno to dangerous weaponsâ, âno to machete gangsâ and âno to cross border crimesâ among other Police Operations.
A combined total of 451 arrests were made on the above stated operations, bringing the cumulative total arrest to 19 531 since 01/01/21.
