The case in which a Banket woman was sentenced 19 years in prison after she was found guilty of raping raping two minors has taken a new twist as medical test conducted on the victims came out negative.

The two minors are aged 11 and 14.

The convict, Dadirai is denying all the allegations leveled against her arguing that she was wrongful convicted.

She was released on bail but latter convicted of the crime and sentenced to 19 years in prison.

She told this publication that her husband has refused to sell their livestock to raise money to appeal her case.

“I am suddened that my husband shas refused to appeal my case when he knows that I am innocent. I cant believe he has attached so much importance to animals as opposed to his wife. It really is strange,” she decried.

She says her convivction is a ‘miscarriage of justice’

“I have the papers which has all the evidence that show that nothing was done to the children” said Daidirai.

She told slymedianews in an interview at Chikurubi Female Prison, “This all started when the two boys who are our landlady’s sons were beaten by my husbund for peeping into our bedroom while we were intimate.’’

“Their mother was not happy when she got to know of the incident and went on to report to the police that I had sexually abused her sons” she added.

Dadirai was arrested in Banket where she had visited her husband at Esha Mine.

“When the police came to the house, they interrogated me and took me to Banket police station where I spent two nights in cells.” she said.

She said she was surprised that the police never bothered to record a statement from her.

After spending two nights in cells, she was taken to court where for more than three weeks she was remanded
