ZUPCO passengers in and around Harare have appealed to public transport ZUPCO management to reduce bus fare which was recently increased
Several people who talk to this publication yesterday at Rezende bus terminus, where Epworth people board ZUPCO management must consider the current economic conditions prevailing in the country
“I shocked when conductor told me to up 100 RTGS, I ended up paying because l had no choice as l was rushing to work and it is the only public transport that I can at least afford,” said Collins.
“ZUPCO management department must feel for citizens not fair to increase the transport fee at monthly basis,” another passenger chipped in.”
Another passenger said the joy that was brought by the introduction of the ZUPCO busses is slowly being eroded
“I felt excited to see ZUPCO buses at the terminus after work. The happiness disappears when the conductor asked me for a top up. I then gave him an American dollar, and get surprised to given 150 RTGS as change,” aid Talent.
ZUPCO bus fare for Epworth route was 140 RTGS until 1 September and was increased to 400 RTGS early October.
